Reservoir Studies

reservoir studies

Reservoir Geochemistry is the study of reservoir fluids in an effort to account for their spatial and compositional variations. It addresses the alteration of oil and gas in the reservoir by processes such as biodegradation, water washing, gas stripping, thermal maturity, fluid-mineral interactions, and PVT relationships. It can help predict the distribution of tar mats, evaporative condensates, and H2S. Minor variations in oil composition can be used to help understand reservoir continuity, identify passed up pay zones, solve production problems and allocate commingled production to specific intervals.
